About Us
WEST AFRICAN RESTAURANT
At Kejjis, we're more than just a restaurant – we're a celebration of
Nigerian culture, community, and the rich culinary traditions that bring
us together.
Our Journey
Our Story
Kejjis Restaurant was born by my sister Adetutu (Femi just wanted to be a 9-5 guy after business don show me correct pepper) primarily from a need to provide a service that wasn’t available in the Brampton community and also a deep love for Nigerian cuisine and a desire to share our cultural heritage with the diverse community of Brampton, Ontario. Our journey began with a simple mission: to create a space where the flavors of Nigeria could be experienced in their most authentic form.
The rich, diverse flavors of Nigerian cuisine were underrepresented, this provided a need that had to be met. What started as small gatherings with friends who craved a taste of home soon grew into pop-up events, and eventually our beloved first ever restaurant in the heart of Brampton and the second in the North York area with a few more to come.
The founding principles are simple ‘Must taste like that street food back home in Lagos, Nigeria’. And to achieve this every ingredient used in preparing our meals are locally sourced and imported from home, from Suya spice, pepper-soup seasoning to melon seeds not mention we have snails, ogiri, uziza, okazi leaves airfreighted because of how delicate they are.
"Food is our common ground, a universal experience that connects us all to our roots and to each other. At Kejjis, we don't just serve meals – we share stories, heritage, and the love that goes into every recipe."
